international Trek

about the lux & consumer trek

The Luxury & Consumer Trek is an annual international trek that the GSB Consumer & Retail Club hosts to explore a particular theme in luxury and consumer businesses. This year, we’ll be exploring the past, present, and future of luxury and consumer experiences on a 5-day trek to London and Paris in November 2019. The trek will typically consist of a group of 15-20 MBA1s, MBA2s, and MSX students with an interest in consumer and retail businesses.

Key Questions

  1. What did luxury look like in the past and how has it changed today? How have heritage brands evolved to maintain their relevance in the digital age?

  2. How are social media and data-driven technology shaping the consumer brand and retail landscape?

  3. How are consumer expectations and tastes for high-end experiences evolving, and where are subsequent opportunities for brands and businesses?
